ParaPro Test Prep is an independent study site for the exam that school districts in the United States use to qualify paraprofessionals. It has practice tests, study guides and state-by-state requirements, in English and Spanish. It is not part of ETS, the company that gives the exam.
The exam changed in 2026
The ParaPro Assessment (1755) was retired after August 31, 2026, and ParaPathways (5757) is the ETS paraprofessional test you take now. A ParaPro score you already earned still counts wherever your state accepts it (ETS keeps scores on record for 10 years), so you do not need to retest just because the exam changed. States are adopting ParaPathways on their own timelines, so check your state for current requirements.

Where the facts come from
Every figure about the exam (questions, minutes, fees, the score scale, the retake rule) is taken from a published ETS document. On the official facts page each one sits next to the document it came from, with that document's own words. The page also lists what ETS does not say and where official sources disagree. Where ETS is silent, we say so and print no number.
State requirements come from the state's own education department or its statute, and are collected on the state pages. Salary figures are annual pay from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and district counts come from the National Center for Education Statistics. We do not list test centers, because they change; the ETS locator is the source. Where a state sets its own rule and we cannot confirm it, the page sends you to that state's source instead of guessing.
Two languages
Every question, explanation and study guide exists in English and in Spanish. The exam itself is given in English only, so in the Spanish edition the practice questions that depend on English usage keep their options in English.
What is free and what is paid
Free to read, with no account: every study guide, the state pages and the official facts. Free with an account (an email address, no password and no card): Practice Test 1, the timed exam simulation, the explained review and your study plan. Paid: the complete package (the study book to download in English and Spanish, Practice Tests 2 to 5 and flashcards) and two passes that each cover one subtest, online only. Purchases go through Lemon Squeezy. The refund policy says when you can get your money back. Schools and programs can ask about group licences on the schools page.
What we do not promise
We do not promise that you will pass, and we do not publish a predicted score. A practice score shows where you stand on our questions; it is not an ETS score.

There are no ads on this site, and no advertiser has a say in what a page says about an exam or a state.

If you find a mistake, or want to ask something, use the contact form. Every message is recorded under a reference number and you are emailed a copy. We do not publish an email address.
