ParaPro Test Registration
The ParaPro Assessment was retired after August 31, 2026, so it can no longer be booked. ParaPathways (5757) is what you register for now. This page keeps to what ETS publishes and sends you to ETS for the rest.

Some test centers may charge additional proctoring fees, and ETS says fees are subject to change without notice. The test is given in English only.
Before You Register
Check What Your State Requires
- • Which exam your state accepts, and its passing score. States adopt ParaPathways on their own timelines.
- • Whether your district asks for anything beyond the state rule.
- • Whether you need one subtest or both.
Choose How You Will Test
- • At home or at a test center. ETS shows the dates and locations that are open.
- • Some school districts, regional offices of education and other agencies are participating test centers; for those, contact the test center directly.
- • Testing at home has no scheduled breaks, and the test clock does not stop.
Accommodations
- • Request them before you book if you need them. ETS says its documentation review for disability accommodations may take approximately four to six weeks.
- • If your primary language is not English, ETS may allow 50 percent additional testing time; the forms must reach ETS at least 3 weeks before the test date.
- • Read the accommodations guide.
Identification and Payment
- • ETS states what identification to present and which payment methods it accepts. Check your ETS account and your confirmation rather than relying on a third-party list.
- • Ask your employer or district whether it pays or reimburses the fee.
How to Register

1. Sign in or create your ETS account
Start at www.ets.org/parapro. ETS lists its account requirements there.

2. Choose your test
ParaPathways (5757) for both subtests, or Reading and Writing (5758) or Mathematics (5759) alone.

3. Choose at home or a test center, then a date
Pick from the dates and locations ETS shows you.

4. Review, pay and confirm
Check the test, date, location and the name on your registration, then pay. Keep your confirmation: it carries the check-in instructions. When you register, ETS gives you a free interactive practice test for the matching subject.

ParaPathways Fees
The retired ParaPro cost $85 at home and $55 at a community test center while it was offered.
Rescheduling and Retakes
- Reschedule fee: 50% of the test fee, per the Bulletin. Read its cancellation rules before you change a booking.
- Retakes: you can retake once as soon as you like. If more than one retake is needed, you wait 21 days after your most recent attempt, and then you can retake the test 2 more times. The same pattern repeats after that. If you took the composite test (5757), you cannot retake a subtest more than once until after the 21-day period.
- Whether a subtest you passed earlier still counts when you pass the other later is your state's rule, not ETS's. Ask your state.
